ThresholdImpact Venture Mentoring Service empowers local entrepreneurs

The CommAlert Group’s Tim Carwell joins VMS as a Mentor

ThresholdImpact Venture Mentoring Services (VMS) through the University of Alberta empowers alumni entrepreneurs in the province. The program aims to develop, inspire, and empower entrepreneurs by engaging them with teams of experienced Mentors.

Tim Carwell, President of The CommAlert Group and citizen of Beaver First Nation, was approached by ThresholdImpact Venture to become a Mentor in the program.

“As an entrepreneur myself, I see the value entrepreneurs bring to the business community, and I’ve always been passionate about helping people reach their goals,” said Carwell. “I’m looking forward to working with other business leaders and helping entrepreneurs.

VMS supports all members of the University of Alberta community, including staff, students, faculty, and alumni. Its focus is on cultivating capable and strong entrepreneurs through coaching and helping them through their challenges so they can make and own their decisions. VMS, and the Mentors involved in the program, want to see entrepreneurs get themselves and their ventures to the next level.”

VMS has six intakes for entrepreneurs in the program each year. Entrepreneurs are partnered with highly experienced business leaders, who will be there to coach and support them as they grow their companies and overcome new challenges. Learn how to apply for mentorship
