What is Virtual Triage?

A virtual triage is like a hotline or virtual reception centre for stakeholders, employees, and community members. During a time of crisis, people need accurate information quickly, to reduce stress and ensure they are following the right safety instructions. If the situation is escalated and additional emergency communications are required, high alert minute fees can apply. This includes initiating a call-out procedure and dispatching emergency alerts through a mass notification system. 

Community-led Crisis Communications Triage

For some communities, it might be more effective to have a communications triage on-site. Local knowledge and a sense of community can put a caller at ease when calling a crisis update line.
